<p>In <a href="http://www.poeghostal.com/2009/11/5-questions-with-geoff-johns.html">an interview at writer Poe Ghostal's toy and action figure news blog</a>, the <i>Blackest Night, Green Lantern,</i> and <i>Superman: Secret Origin</i> writer says that He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is the only toy property he'd like to take a shot at writing. Now, normally this kind of offhand blue-sky wish-list comment wouldn't merit a post, but I really love He-Man and Johns has written some of my favorite superhero comics of the past several years -- and dammit, I've got a bully pulpit and I intend to use it. </p>
<p>Oh yeah, Johns discusses various other toy-related topics with Ghostal, including his childhood favorites and the highlights of his current collection. Unsurprisingly, Lantern Corps figures from DC Direct and Mattel fare pretty well, with Johns citing the action-figure version of his Blue Lantern character Saint Walker as his fave.</p>
<p>But seriously -- Geoff Johns on <em>He-Man</em>! Start your letter-writing campaign to DC and Mattel in the comments.</p>

<p>It's Wednesday again and here we are for another edition of Send Us Your Shelf Porn. Our guest this week is Batman devotee <a href="http://www.radioactivesandwich.com">Julian Smoger</a>, who has accumulated quite the caped crusader collection and wanted to share some of his more interesting finds with Robot 6 readers.</p>
<p>Once again, let me encourage any and all of you who'd like to submit your collection to please do so. Just send any pictures and commentary to cmautnerATcomcastDOTnet and I'll try to get it up on the site in a few weeks time.</p>
<p>In the meantime, I'll hand the virtual mic over to Julian ...</p>
<p><span id="more-22517"></span></p>
<p>I like Batman. I like Batman a lot. I like Batman so much that I plan on opening my own Batman museum one day. On top of the toy and doodad collection, I've accumulated a few thousand Batman only comic books.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-22518" title="image 1" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/image-1-700x604.jpg" alt="image 1" width="560" height="483" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">These are my first Batman toys from when I was a kid in the early '80s. The SuperPowers toy is actually a replacement for the original, which I lost when I was young and cried for ever about. The bed comforter was used until I was in college or something ridiculous like that. The 2 Mego toys were bought for me by my parents when they went on a vacation (it's at the point now where, when on vacation, my mother just buys me Batman stuff from antique dealers).</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-22519" title="batsuit" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/batsuit-700x533.jpg" alt="batsuit" width="560" height="426" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">This is probably one of my favorite pieces in my collection. My mom made this from scratch for Halloween when I was mad young. Notice the muscles sewn in to make my scrawny ass look beefy! Eventually, I want to get a maniquin and a plexiglass case to house it in, just like the Batcave!</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-22520" title="DSC02771" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/DSC02771-700x525.jpg" alt="DSC02771" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>The story behind this one is a bit funny. I was living in NY and saw the promotion. I did not, however, want Domino's. I just walked in and asked for the box, got odd looks from the staff, then demanded a box. Eventually, they just wanted to get rid of me, so now I have it!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-22522" title="DSC02926" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/DSC02926-700x933.jpg" alt="DSC02926" width="560" height="746" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">This is a custom piece I had done at the famous Six Flags amusement park! Ha ha. I had originally gotten it for my Grandmother as a present but since she's moved, I've re-inherited it, which is ok with me!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-22523" title="DSC02851" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/DSC02851-700x933.jpg" alt="DSC02851" width="560" height="746" /></p>
<p>I got this at NYCC2009. I had never really met any big names before, and as I was walking through the aisles, I saw a little unassuming old man at an empty table with a sign that just said "I created the Joker". I walked up and met Jerry Robinson, a very pleasant gentleman who signed this print for me. It was great to be able to meet a piece of history.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-22526" title="old 1" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/old-1-700x617.jpg" alt="old 1" width="560" height="494" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-22527" title="old 2" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/old-2-700x932.jpg" alt="old 2" width="560" height="746" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-22528" title="old 3" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/old-3.jpg" alt="old 3" width="506" height="782" /></p>
<p>These pics are about 2 years old as I now live in a tiny apartment where I'm unable to set everything up. As you can see, my obsession runs deep. If Batman's on it, I'll buy it; spaghettios, shampoo, bubble bath. Since I've moved, I cataloged everything individually. If you want to see more (a LOT more), check out <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/slicetwo/TheBatmanMuseum">The Batman Museum</a>.</p>

<p>Time once again for Send Us Your Shelf Porn, the only Internet blog post (that I know of) that lets you, the reader, be the nerd king (or queen, or regent) for a day. This week we're featuring the collection of Jeff Keller from New Berlin, Wisconsin, whose got quite the set-up in his basement.</p>
<p>Remember, Shelf Porn can only continue with your help. Got a collection you'd like to share? Let the world see it by emailing photos and commentary to me at cmautnerATcomcastDOTnet.</p>
<p>And how here's Jeff:</p>
<p><span id="more-21918"></span></p>
<p>First of all, thank you for this great forum. I’ve always been curious how other people display their collections, and you have provided a chance for all of us to share our inner sanctums. I have collected comics for most of my life, and honored to open mine up to all. I hope you enjoy the tour, and I would like to hear what you think.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21920" title="sp2" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/sp2-700x525.jpg" alt="sp2" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>In my basement room, I wanted people to walk in and be able to peruse the various displays just as you would the aisles of your local comic shop. You’ll find a cross-section of old and new, with the emphasis on DC Comic characters (heavily Batman oriented) and related memorabilia. A large part of my collection is in trade paperbacks of comic strips, dating back to the early 70’s</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21921" title="sp3" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/sp3-700x525.jpg" alt="sp3" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21922" title="sp4" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/sp4-700x525.jpg" alt="sp4" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21924" title="sp5" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/sp5-700x525.jpg" alt="sp5" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21925" title="sp6" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/sp6-700x525.jpg" alt="sp6" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>Lots of comic strip trade paperbacks dating back to the early 70’s</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21926" title="sp7" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/sp7-700x933.jpg" alt="sp7" width="560" height="746" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21927" title="sp8" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/sp8-700x933.jpg" alt="sp8" width="560" height="746" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The Overstreet Price Guides start at 1974!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21928" title="sp9" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/sp9-700x933.jpg" alt="sp9" width="560" height="746" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21930" title="sp10" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/sp10-700x525.jpg" alt="sp10" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Check out the McDonalds menu board (circa 1974) Quarter Pounder with Cheese for $1.00!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21931" title="sp11" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/sp11-700x933.jpg" alt="sp11" width="560" height="746" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The metal “Best Comics Reading” DC Comics sign came from the spinner rack from the local drug store where I bought comics for 15 years as a kid.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21932" title="sp12" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/sp12-700x525.jpg" alt="sp12" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">This spinner rack contains one of every DC title from the “Go-Go Checks” era of 1966-67. After over 40 years of collecting, I am “specializing” a little. I am currently compiling a complete collection of every “Go-Go Checks” cover, and I am about 80% complete!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21933" title="sp13" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/sp13-700x525.jpg" alt="sp13" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The lateral file cabinets provide a neater storage alternative from the traditional white boxes. Each cabinet holds about 2400 comics.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21934" title="sp14" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/sp14-700x525.jpg" alt="sp14" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21935" title="sp15" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/sp15-700x525.jpg" alt="sp15" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21936" title="sp17" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/sp17-700x525.jpg" alt="sp17" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21937" title="sp18" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/sp18-700x525.jpg" alt="sp18" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">In addition to the Go-Go Checks, I have also compiled a complete collection of DC 100 Page issues, as well as all of the Bicentennial covers from 1976.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21939" title="sp19" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/sp19-700x525.jpg" alt="sp19" width="560" height="420" /></p>

<p style="text-align: left;">The Toy Corner. A mix of old and new.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21941" title="sp21" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/sp21-700x525.jpg" alt="sp21" width="560" height="420" /></p>

<p>Welcome once again to Send Us Your Shelf Porn. Our guest this week is Marc Mason, newly established PR guru for <a href="http://www.nbmpub.com/">NBM</a> and proprieter of the <a href="http://www.comicswaitingroom.com/">Comics Waiting Room</a> Web site.</p>
<p>Remember, you too can be a featured Shelf Porn guest. All you need do is take some photos of your burgeoning comics collection and send them to me at cmautnerATcomcastDOTnet. Feel free to include as much or as little info about yourself and your collection as you like.</p>
<p>And now here's Marc ...</p>
<p><span id="more-21344"></span></p>
<p>I enjoy this feature very much and thought I’d give it a shot. At this point in my life, I now have over 2000 graphic novels (not to mention plenty of regular comics). Thanks to being a reviewer, my shelves are overflowing! While plenty of these books weren’t review items, many were books I got in trade for comics I no longer wanted or needed. Not sure how this works, but I’ll try to hit some high points…</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21346" title="marmasonshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/012.JPG" alt="marmasonshelfporn" width="518" height="691" /></p>
<p>I don’t own too many action figures, but it just makes sense to have Steel guarding the S-Z shelf. Included here: all of the TRANSMETROPOLITAN, Y THE LAST MAN, STRANGERS IN PARADISE, and SHE-HULK volumes. This bookcase probably has more “mainstream” material than any of my others.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21347" title="marmasonshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/013.JPG" alt="marmasonshelfporn" width="518" height="691" /></p>
<p>The front part of the alphabet for regular trade paperbacks. Things here include all of the JOHN BYRNE FF VISIONARIES, all the MADMAN trades, each of the volumes of FLIGHT… as you can see, I’m stacking right now because I have no room to add anything new. This problem is only growing as the months pass.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21349" title="marmasonshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/014.JPG" alt="marmasonshelfporn" width="518" height="691" /></p>
<p>Hardcover land starts here. Plus, over-sized trades, some digest-sized collections and more. In the lower right, you’ll see a ton of minicomics as well. I also have all of the Minx line sitting here. And if that isn’t cool enough? How about statues of Merv Pumpkinhead and the Black Widow? I contain multitudes!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21350" title="marmasonshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/015-700x525.jpg" alt="marmasonshelfporn" width="567" height="426" /></p>
<p>Top row, over-sized hardcovers. I’ll come back to those later. The regular shelves contain 6x9 and smaller books. This is easily the most eclectic bookcase in my collection. Lots of stuff from Oni, Fantagraphics, First Second, NBM, and Top Shelf to be found here. Bottom left you’ll see all the books I have from Lewis Trondheim’s DUNGEON series. I worship Trondheim. Massively. Upper right: statues of Spider Jerusalem (my personal hero) and Harley Quinn. Again- expecting consistency from me isn’t a good idea. J</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21351" title="marmasonshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/016-700x525.jpg" alt="marmasonshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>Couple hundred manga volumes, anyone? Apparently I need to shelve that NOBLE CAUSES book- no idea why that’s sitting there.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-21352" title="marmasonshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/017.JPG" alt="marmasonshelfporn" width="518" height="691" /></p>
<p>The Marvel Essential is probably my favorite format running right now. Plus, it allows me to get the comics I had (and loved) as a kid back into my hands at a cheap price. Also living here: some of the COMPLETE PEANUTS volumes, as well as the complete BUFFY and ANGEL series on DVD.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21353" title="marmasonshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/018-700x525.jpg" alt="marmasonshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>I’m missing a couple of CEREBUS volumes. The guy I traded with to get 13, 15, and 16 didn’t have the others. Drat.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21355" title="marmasonshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/019-700x525.jpg" alt="marmasonshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>Top shelf here: the Grant Morrison NEW X-MEN omnibus hardcover. I am certain this is the heaviest book I own. Bright side: potential murder weapon (should I need one).</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21356" title="marmasonshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/020-700x525.jpg" alt="marmasonshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>Back to the over-sized hardcovers. One of the things I love about comics (and my collection in turn) is the eclectic nature of what I enjoy. In a row here I have: the COMPLETE FAR SIDE, the ABSOLUTE edition of Warren Ellis’ AUTHORITY, Fantagraphics’ first POPEYE reprint, and a Chris Ware book. Fun!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21357" title="marmasonshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/021-700x525.jpg" alt="marmasonshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>Further down this shelf, THE PRO shares space with STRAY BULLETS, THE BOYS, COMIC BOOK TATTOO, and THE PHOTOGRAPHER. Anyone ever tells you that comics don’t have something for everyone, they’re lying. Or ignorant. Set ‘em straight!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21358" title="marmasonshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/022-700x525.jpg" alt="marmasonshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>A closer look at over-sized trades and the minicomics. Still waiting on one more volume of COMPLETE OMAHA. As for minicomics… they rock. The purest form of comics out there. Anyone can fold a piece of paper in half, write and doodle, hit Kinkos and put their work in front of people. How can you not love that? Even when they suck, you have to respect the effort.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21359" title="marmasonshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/025-700x525.jpg" alt="marmasonshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>Over-sized manga and the smaller omnibus format Dark Horse and IDW are using. Have I mentioned how much I love omnibus-type books?</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-21360" title="marmasonshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/026-700x488.jpg" alt="marmasonshelfporn" width="560" height="390" /></p>
<p>Smaller hardcovers. The Ted McKeever books from Image came out really nicely.</p>
<p>So yeah, I have a lot of graphic novels. And running Comics Waiting Room, along with being the p.r. guy for NBM Publishing, means the collection is only going to grow larger. But I don’t see it as a burden- I’m really fortunate to have been able to read and own so many wonderful books. I wish the same for everybody out there reading!</p>

<p>Welcome to Send Us Your Shelf Porn, where the collections are shared and the eyes are dazzled. Our guest this week is Steve Flack of Brooklyn, NY. Steve recently moved into a new apartment, and just finished refurbishing it, comics collection and all. He's eager to take us on a tour of the place, so get your guidebooks and click on the link ...</p>
<p><span id="more-20178"></span></p>
<p>My name is Steve Flack. I'm a big fan of the Robot 6 Blog, and I love the Shelf Porn installments. When you started them, I had started my move into my new place, and I really hoped they'd still be running when I finished my set up. Luckily, they are, and my apartment is all set up!</p>
<p>There's a little history here. I've been collecting comics and toys for as long as I can remember, and have been focusing on comics since I was 8. I recently decided to move back into my grandmother's place in Brooklyn. My great grandmother lived there until she passed away over ten years ago. Since then, my father used to keep his baseball collection in there, which was <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/vitaminsteve/sets/72157603315771030/">impressive shelf porn of it's own</a>.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20184" title="baseballporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/2069744039_1422a89467_b-700x525.jpg" alt="baseballporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>When I decided to move in there, a lot of work had to be done to the apartment, including heating and electrical work, tearing down walls, and painting. I documented the entire story over <a href="http://www.vitaminsteve.com">at my blog</a>.</p>
<p>Surprisingly, everything was done over the course of a few months, and now, my setup is all done.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20182" title="3648754835_87ee1aebca_b" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3648754835_87ee1aebca_b-700x525.jpg" alt="3648754835_87ee1aebca_b" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>This is my living room, on the far wall, you can see the first of my major comic book bookcases.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20183" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3747764001_8c549e0a7d_b-700x933.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="746" /></p>
<p>In this one are my omnibuses, and absolutes. Along the top is a complete set of Marvel Mighty Muggs, and atop all that is a print of an animated style "Goonies" by animator Steve Silver.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20185" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3748551684_ce94d92493_b-700x525.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20186" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3677024875_d886446b2c_b-700x525.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>Across from the couch is my TV set up, which is flanked by some great pieces I got over the years.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20188" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3748560356_2b51048668_b-700x933.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="746" /></p>
<p>First up is a Mr. Incredible poster by Mike Mignola, that I was lucky enough to have signed by Mike and the film's director, Brad Bird.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20189" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3747765359_cbc5c97f5a_b-700x525.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20190" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3747767169_ffba42772e_b-700x933.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="746" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20192" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3748558804_7c2411ce97_b-700x933.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="746" /></p>
<p>To the right of the TV is a page from Local by Ryan Kelly, and a page from Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life. In between the two is a great display case I picked up from Ikea, filled with some awesome toys and statues.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20193" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3748563390_df86cbecdf_b-700x525.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>And all the way tp the right is an original Evan Dorkin page from his Bill &amp; Ted comics.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20194" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3748561998_76c5d03d84_b-700x525.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20195" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3747775215_f0cab771ea_b-700x525.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>And then, I have two signed prints from the first two MoCCA Artfests, and poster from a Neil Diamond concert rounding out my dining area.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20196" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3747776463_96d8919083_b-700x525.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>Next up is a signed Matt Groening print from the Simpsons movie, that I picked up when I met him at a recent SDCC.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20197" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3748567766_09a2ed24cd_b-700x933.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="746" /></p>
<p>And then finishing up this room are two Muppets, one a replica of Kermit the Frog, and the other is a Muppet version of myself.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20198" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3748550024_356dac4312_b-700x525.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>As you walk through into the next part of the apartment, you'll see my original David Mazzuchelli Batman head sketch on the door, my favorite piece of art I've ever bought...</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20199" title="3748551684_ce94d92493_b(2)" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3748551684_ce94d92493_b2-700x525.jpg" alt="3748551684_ce94d92493_b(2)" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>In the next room is my major library. I bought way too many bookcases, but that'll be great for the future. For now, I just grabbed some older comics with fantastic covers, and propped them up with plate holders.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20200" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3747735751_3d6c3d7f5a_b-700x525.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20201" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3748526690_fc5312696a_b-700x525.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20202" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3748528400_31bc3da1ec_b-700x525.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>The far left bookcase is all graphic novels grouped alphabetically.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20203" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3748530626_9b28e8207d_b-700x933.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="746" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20204" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3747743317_b5ef53974f_b-700x933.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="746" /></p>
<p>The next bookcases are all Essentials and Showcases. The Spidey comic on display is the very first comic book I ever got, a great book about Spidey from the very early 1980's. I got it signed by Stan Lee at the very San Diego Comic Con I ever went to.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20206" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3747745219_c412445214_b-700x525.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>Graphic novels continue to the next bookcase, followed by selected display comics.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20207" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3748536388_b4a6554554_b-700x525.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>Next up are anthologies...</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20208" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3748537998_9768243cc3_b-700x525.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>And then books on comics and toys.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20209" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3748540328_38d76a08c5_b-700x933.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="746" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20210" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3748542462_a74dd6405d_b-700x933.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="746" /></p>
<p>The next book case is comic strips, and then random books that are too big for other bookcases.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20211" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3747754353_92844d6f1f_b-700x525.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20212" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3748545374_4a33c54609_b-700x525.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>The final bookcase is all art books..</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20214" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3747757455_ee05ba82fc_b-700x525.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>And then the final two shelves are books that I still have to read.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20215" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3745059040_9b7f33bf85_b-700x525.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20216" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3745060810_264b7ec1c7_b-700x525.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>Running along the top are all original comic art I've picked up over the years. From left to right, it's a Detective Comics page by JH Williams, The Sentry by Jae Lee, Ultimate Spider-Man by Mark Bagley, Ex Machina by Tony Harris, Spider-Man's Tangled Web by Darwyn Cooke, and New X-Men by Frank Quitely. Better shots of these pages and all of my original art collection are up at my <a href="http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryRoom.asp?GSub=24549">Comic Art Fan's Gallery</a>.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20217" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3748548704_c84a8f6168_b-700x525.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>Across from the bookshelves are two comic pages from my friend, Matthew Loux. Matt and I went to college together, and now he creates books over at Oni Press (F-Stop, Sidescrollers, and the Salt Water Taffy series), Matt and I have a deal, where he puts me in a cameo appearance in all of his books, and I then purchase the page off of him. Here are my cameos in F-Stop and Sidescrollers.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20218" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3677019861_be8809a64c_b-700x525.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>In the next room is my bedroom...</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20219" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3747722297_9fc1f6c49f_b-700x525.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="420" /></p>
<p>Across from the bed is my lone non-comics bookcase. It's a mixture of prose books, and books on film and television. Also, running across the top is my collection of Muppet action figures.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20220" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3748514188_9690f9d550_b-700x933.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="746" /></p>
<p>Now, there's another spare room to the left left of the bookcase...</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20221" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3748515740_c4fbabda3f_b-700x933.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="746" /></p>
<p>And in there are all of my single issues!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20222" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3748517074_98e88a81a7_b-700x933.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="746" /></p>
<p>To the left of the boxes is my misc. filing shelf, filled with books I need to read and file, and boxes of mini-comics. As well as some pieces of art, including original work by Charles Burns and Jim Mahfood.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-20223" title="steveflackshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/3747730001_c0e1ac547b_b-700x933.jpg" alt="steveflackshelfporn" width="560" height="746" /></p>
<p>And across from the comics is my DVD collection.</p>
<p>So, that's my place. I hope this entry wasn't too long (I even left some stuff out, that could all be seen on my blog).</p>
<p>Thanks for listening!</p>

<p>Before we get started, a couple of links. First, our own Stephanie Chan found a great Japanese shelf porn site called <a href="http://www.figure.fm/feature/ja/otacool/">Otacool</a>, which appears to being trying to answer the question "How much Gundam is too much?"</p>
<p>On a similar topic, <a href="http://comics212.net/2009/08/25/japan-2009-flagship-kinokuniya-shinjuku/">Chris Butcher</a> posted pics of the manga section at Kinokuniya’s flagship store in Shinjuku. If you've got a hankerin' for manga-flavored bookstore shelf porn, you'll want to click on that link.</p>
<p>Moving on, our guest this week is Alice W. Lynch of Jonesboro, Arkansas, who goes by the handle DareDiva, for reasons that will become all too apparent as you read the rest of this post. In addition to making <a href="http://www.brailletshirts.com/">Braille T-Shirts</a>, Alice is quite the craftsperson, having made a number of Daredevil-related quilts and other items.</p>
<p>Remember: to send pics of your own shelf porn, all you have to do is email me at cmautnerATcomcastDOTnet.</p>
<p>But enough of that. Let's let Alice take us on a tour of her collection ...</p>
<p><span id="more-19623"></span></p>
<p>Top photo: My David Mack prints and an Andy Lee watercolor framed and leaning against the wall on the top.  On the shelves are some assorted Daredevil figures, a custom polyclay from the UK, Elektra Barbie and DD, and some GI Joes I've converted to customs as Matt Murdock and the pre-DD costume Matt wore in the Frank Miller <em>Man Without Fear</em> series.</p>
<p>Below: My desk in all its glory. This, of course, doesn't BEGIN to encompass my collection, just what fits on the shelf above the computer.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-19627" title="DD-desk" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/DD-desk-700x466.jpg" alt="DD-desk" width="560" height="373" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I have two computers on this desk, and my shiny new green Perkins brailler. (I'm studying to become a braille textbook transcriber.) I have a wallpaper on the left that I did myself, and one from the movie that a friend sent to me. Some of my collector cards are behind the monitor, and my DD plushie from one of those Sega games stands between them, behind my DD pencil cup.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-19628" title="DD-shrine-1" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/DD-shrine-1-700x466.jpg" alt="DD-shrine-1" width="560" height="373" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The view when I look up from the monitors. Again, not nearly all the figures I have, but all that will set up there, so I rotate them out every once in a while. (When I dust.) Elektra Barbie and Daredevil Ben stand in the space that used to house my cds.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-19629" title="DD-shrine-2" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/DD-shrine-2-700x466.jpg" alt="DD-shrine-2" width="560" height="373" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Closer shot of the DD figures, minimates and Kubricks, with a few villains and Marvel compatriots thrown in. I've reconfigured a couple of Minimates to do Matt Murdock versions. Under the shelf, you can see my Matt Murduck and Duckdevil rubber duckies, as well as a pair of promo sunglasses they gave away at the movie premier, and a wallet card case from Hong Kong that was a movie promo.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19630" title="DD-shrine-3" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/DD-shrine-3.jpg" alt="DD-shrine-3" width="540" height="810" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Tighter shot of Elektra Barbie and DD Ben, and a tiny ceramic DD plate I got from the UK.</p>
<p>I once got to display my collection at the city library for the summer reading program. It took up four huge glass cases that spanned more than 25 feet, plus more than 6 feet tall. I set it all up and then sat back and watched the reactions. A couple of kids about 10 or 12 years old were pointing and exclaiming over things, and I asked them if they liked the display. One of them said, "This is like a dream to me." He was pretty shocked to find out all this stuff was mine. So I gave them the ten cent tour, explaining how old some of the stuff was. (I had a 1966 trading card in there. Ancient history!)</p>
<p>Here are some custom Mighty Muggs that I painted, as well as some pics of the inside of my sewing studio/office:</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-19635" title="3DD-retouch" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/3DD-retouch-700x490.jpg" alt="3DD-retouch" width="560" height="392" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-19637" title="Armor-Mighty-Mugg-1" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Armor-Mighty-Mugg-1-700x840.jpg" alt="Armor-Mighty-Mugg-1" width="560" height="672" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Armored Daredevil Costume: this was the first Hasbro Mighty Mugg that I painted. He started as a blank white Mugg. Next time, I'll start with a black one. Sheesh. His bo staff is made from two pencils connected at the eraser end.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-19638" title="MattBrownstone" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/MattBrownstone-700x904.jpg" alt="MattBrownstone" width="560" height="723" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Matt Murdock Mighty Mugg: These things are addictive to paint. Matt's white cane is a whittled down wooden chopstick.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-19639" title="Red-DD-Mugg-NYC" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Red-DD-Mugg-NYC-700x932.jpg" alt="Red-DD-Mugg-NYC" width="560" height="746" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Red Costume Daredevil Mighty Mugg: Hasbro hasn't released a version of Daredevil, so I painted my own. The billy clubs are cut from a pencil and painted white.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19640" title="Yellow-DD-nightsky" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Yellow-DD-nightsky.jpg" alt="Yellow-DD-nightsky" width="560" height="372" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Yellow Costume Daredevil Mighty Mugg: Where there is Red DD, there has to be a yellow one. This Mugg accompanied me on vacation to San Antonio, and we had fun photobombing with him.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19651" title="Inner Sanctum of the Domestic Goddess" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Inner-Sanctum-of-the-Domestic-Goddess.jpg" alt="Inner Sanctum of the Domestic Goddess" width="480" height="640" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Inner Sanctum of the Domestic Goddess: aka my sewing room/office/studio. I have the stand-up from the display that held the Daredevil movie soundtrack album, and my movieverse DD swings from the ceiling fan.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-19681" title="Old picture files 010" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Old-picture-files-010-700x946.jpg" alt="Old picture files 010" width="560" height="757" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The Holy Grail of DD memorabilia (if you don't have Stan Lee's sig on #1, which I don't): A sketch from Joe Quesada and David Mack, and an autograph from Kevin Smith on the first hardcover volume of Volume II. I got them all on the same weekend in Dallas.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">And here are some detail pics of my Daredevil art quilts. if you want to see more, head over to <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/darediva/">my flicker page</a>.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-19642" title="Old picture files 017" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Old-picture-files-017-571x1024.jpg" alt="Old picture files 017" width="571" height="1024" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The piece of art that got me pretty much ostracized from the quilting group. Joe Quesada's iconic image of DD draped around the steeple of a church. Really a hard piece to do, because I had to work backwards from all that black fabric up to the highlights.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19643" title="Old picture files 188" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Old-picture-files-188.jpg" alt="Old picture files 188" width="548" height="564" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Alex Maleev's Matt Murdock rendered in thread. One of my faves.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-19644" title="Old picture files 236" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Old-picture-files-236-690x1023.jpg" alt="Old picture files 236" width="552" height="818" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Armageddon splash page from Born Again. I handpainted the flame fabric background.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-19645" title="Old picture files 262" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Old-picture-files-262-689x1023.jpg" alt="Old picture files 262" width="551" height="818" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Probably my favorite piece that I've done. Murdock's Law splash page from Parts of a Hole, Joe Quesada art. This one rocks some hand-beaded fringe you can't see here.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-19646" title="Old picture files 216" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Old-picture-files-216-592x1024.jpg" alt="Old picture files 216" width="592" height="1024" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Iconic pose from Frank Miller's Born Again.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-19647" title="Old picture files 110" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Old-picture-files-110-700x335.jpg" alt="Old picture files 110" width="560" height="268" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">My rendition of Tim Sale's art from Daredevil: Yellow</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19648" title="Old picture files 225" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Old-picture-files-225.jpg" alt="Old picture files 225" width="576" height="432" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">How a piece first looks as I begin to stitch.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19649" title="Old picture files 153" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Old-picture-files-153.jpg" alt="Old picture files 153" width="480" height="640" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Another view of my sewing room where I created the Daredevil art quilts that showcase art from the first forty years of the title. Two of the panels hang on the back wall.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I have a lot of other toys and movie memorabilia, but they are stored at present. I brought everything out once to display at the library, and it took quite a long wall and several cases to set it all up.</p>
<p>Collecting Daredevil stuff is a lot more fun than collecting some other characters, because it's so hard to find. I still need a #1 issue. Someday...</p>

<p>We've had Batman, Superman and a host of lesser DC heroes featured here at SP Central, but Wonder Woman hasn't really gotten her due, shelf porn-wise, ... until today.</p>
<p>Today we're featuring the extensive WW collection of Elizabeth Reeves, a self-described Princess Diana fangirl who has got quite the collection to prove it. And how. Click on the link to see the evidence for yourself and let Reeves take you on a guided tour ...</p>
<p><span id="more-19016"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19026" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/scan1_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="576" height="392" /></p>
<p>I was born to love comic books. With a last name like Reeves, how could I not?? ("Like George Reeves, the original Superman. No. No, not Christopher. Nooo, that Superman's last name was Reeve. No, he did *not* have an 's' at the end of his last name." Do you know how many times I've had that conversation? Do you know how nice it is to have an audience who understands what I'm talking about?!) My older cousin, Ryan, and I used to play Superman as kids; however, I didn't enjoy playing Lois Lane to his Man of Steel. I received my first Wonder Woman outfit when I was four- I've been the living embodiment of the character ever since.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19028" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn " src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0450_3.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn " width="576" height="432" /></p>
<p>Wonder Woman is not just my hobby; she is a part of me (and my wardrobe!) The Supergirl hoodie was a gift I bought my little sister (pictured above in her Supergirl costume). She rarely wore it, so I stole it. <img src='http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19029" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0449_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="576" height="432" /></p>
<p>My favorite part of the clothing is the Wonder Woman and Batman onesies, purchased in case I produce my own little fangirl or boy someday.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19030" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0457_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="219" height="640" /></p>
<p>This is the gallery section of my collection — generally all the larger, more expensive pieces. It sits in my living room next to the TV so that I can stare at its glory.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19031" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0472_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="480" height="640" /></p>
<p>There are not enough words n the English language to describe the beauty of the Wonder Woman Museum Statue. Real leather, real metal... mmmmm! I also think the Ame-Comi series is amazing. If I could, I'd own every single one produced. Next on my list, however, is Cheetah.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19032" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0607_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="576" height="432" /></p>
<p>This shelf is Wonder Woman paired up with her boys. I carried the 'Wonder Woman vs. Superman' in my lap, all the way from Chicago to Columbus — including a plane ride and two hour car trip — for fear that it would break. The craftsmanship and balance on that piece is amazing!!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19033" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0460_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="576" height="432" /></p>
<p>The MEGO Wonder Woman was a great (cheap!) find at Wizard World Chicago. I love my #21 Ricky Rudd NASCAR car for a number of reasons, including 21 being my birthdate and my being a NASCAR fan. It doesn't show in the picture, but the dolls are standing on two handmade Wonder Woman coasters I bought at an arts festival. Also pictured are my DC/Vertigo movies; yes, I'm missing a lot, but the book is *always* better than the movie!</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19035" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0477_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="562" height="464" /></p>
<p>My gorgeous Michael Turner WW and two Perez pieces. I'm a DC girl through and through and I adore the DC Trinity of Wonder Woman, Superman, and Batman. I love the Alex Ross fleece blanket (and it has the villains on the other side!)</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19037" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0480_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="480" height="640" /></p>
<p>Wonder Woman in the media, coasters, Batman beer coozy, The Gotham Times from the TDK ARG. I'm sure most of you out there own the Playboy magazine. <img src='http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19038" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0483_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="480" height="640" /></p>
<p>My purse, which is now missing buttons due to overuse. These are *not* flair, people. They are buttons.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19039" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0494_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="480" height="640" /></p>
<p>The heart and soul of my collection.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19040" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0539_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="576" height="432" /></p>
<p>That was my actual license plate a few years back. I plan to renew them someday.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19041" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0541_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="576" height="432" /></p>
<p>I'm particularly fond of miniatures - MiniMates, Pocket Super Heroes, LEGO pieces, HeroClix, etc.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19042" title="img_0546_2" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0546_2.jpg" alt="img_0546_2" width="576" height="432" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19043" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0632_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="576" height="432" /></p>
<p>I don't collect with the intent to profit, so whether or not I take my figures out of the package depends on 1. how much space I currently have available and 2. how cool the packaging is. Some toys just look better in the box; others are so detailed that keeping them in the packaging does them no justice. I would like to add the SDCC Wonder Twins to my collection; best packaging *ever*!!! The Amazonia costume is my favorite of all the WW costumes. As an Ohio State Buckeye, I also hold a special place in my heart for the scarlet and grey 'Red Son' version. I enjoy collecting unique pieces and am blessed that my friends and family are always on the look-out. I can't remember the last gift-giving holiday that didn't include at least one Wonder Woman item.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19044" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0533_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="576" height="432" /></p>
<p>Barbie as Wonder Woman (three different versions) and my favorite piece, a mini (and well functioning!) Wonder Woman bobblehead.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19045" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0525_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="576" height="432" /></p>
<p>While Wonder Woman is the cynosure of my collection, I've grown to love Donna Troy. Of course, after Infinite Crisis, I also had to add Harbinger so that the ladies could share the Universe Orb. <img src='http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> I want more villains in the collection- there's an Ares action figure out there that I've seen on eBay a few times. Oh, and there are a few Artemis action figures out there I'd love to get my hands on.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19047" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0520_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="576" height="432" /></p>
<p>The Lynda Carter postcard was sent to me by my little sister when she lived in Switzerland so that I would have an 'international' collection. The Wonder Woman at the front right of the photo (who actually belongs on the side of a very old Burger King cup) was the very first Wonder Woman item I ever owned.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19048" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0521_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="576" height="432" /></p>
<p>The lead figure (with magazine) in the back makes me laugh; the sticker on the bag talks about how it is made of lead and that one should not consume it. That's right- I literally have a killer Wonder Woman collection!</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19049" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0500_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="480" height="640" /></p>
<p>I didn't start reading comic books regularly until I was 13. I bought a copy of Grant Morrison's "Kill Your Boyfriend," along with "Tank Girl: The Odyssey." Obviously, my choices were slightly less than age appropriate (who the heck let me buy those!?!?!) My mother confiscated my books when she found them hiding in my backpack; needless to say, one always wants what she can't have - my passion for comic books was born. It may have also left me a little screwed up. <img src='http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> I love Wonder Woman because she is a diplomat. Her first instinct is not to fight, but to talk. She is strong, rational, emotional, and intelligent, but still has a beautiful, innocent naivete and sensitivity to her. She truly is the perfect woman.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19052" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0501_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="480" height="640" /></p>
<p>Here are my trade paperbacks. I'm in the process of buying all my singles in trades so that I can carry them with me. Wonder Woman books make up the top shelf, as well as DC history books. Authors outside the DC Universe chronology are on the next shelf (though as I'm looking I'm wondering who has the rest of the 'Lucifer' series...??). The bottom shelf is DCU stuff and some Batman, which I've tried to keep in chronological order; 'Identity Crisis' being at the end obviously screws up that logic. This part of my collection may be small, but the books are read often. It is ever growing and often lent out to others. I rarely read outside DC/Vertigo. I mainly focus on Wonder Woman and any of the big events within the DC canon</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19053" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0504_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="576" height="432" /></p>
<p>Not pictured (since it wasn't part of my WW collection specifically) is my Gotham City LEGO collection. As in, the *entire* collection (minus a few vehicles). It took over the entire dining room.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19054" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0567_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="480" height="640" /></p>
<p>My desk. Look closely and you'll also notice Bigby and Snow from 'Fables' (anyone want to send me the Shere-Kahn//Rose Red to go along with it?), plus my Disney Princesses. I may have a thing for princesses in general. <img src='http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19055" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0629_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="510" height="340" /></p>
<p>A beautiful sketch my friend Aaron drew for me.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19056" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/p1010165_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="576" height="432" /></p>
<p>Done by Christopher Brown, aka the Etch-a-Sketch Man</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19057" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0572.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="480" height="640" /></p>
<p>The madness spreads throughout the house and into the kitchen....</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19058" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/p1010150-1.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="576" height="432" /></p>
<p>There are stacks of comic books scattered throughout my house. I'm only beginning to build up my TPB collection; I throughly enjoy going into The Laughing Ogre (my favorite shop) to grab my pull and talk comics with my friends. I used to prefer the single issues, but as I travel more, TPBs are becoming more convenient. I definitely prefer staying 'on top of my game' and knowing exactly what's going on in the DCU at any given moment, so I'm still trying to find a balance. I didn't bother taking pictures of all the stacks because let's face it, stacks of long boxes, bags, and boards just look like stacks of long boxes, bags, and boards. <img src='http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19059" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0650_3.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="576" height="414" /></p>
<p>My army of Wonder Women.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19060" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0596_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="171" height="255" /></p>
<p>My Gil Kane tattoo; got her in November of 2000; my ultimate goal is to have a full back plate with DC superheroines on my right side and their corresponding villainesses on the left.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19061" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/img_0598_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="576" height="432" /></p>
<p>The nerdiest 'tramp stamp' ever. <img src='http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> I also want DC logos through the years down my spine. No offense, but beat *that*, fanboys!! ;D</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19062" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/wndrwmn_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="388" height="604" /></p>
<p>Me in my Wonder Woman costume</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19063" title="elizabethreevesshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/donna-troy_2.jpg" alt="elizabethreevesshelfporn" width="365" height="400" /></p>
<p>My homemade Donna Troy costume; best application of a former Homecoming dress *ever*! I even hand-sculpted the necklace and belt buckle. Will Pfeifer of 'Catwoman' fame asked if he could take a picture of me and his book. How could I say no?? <img src='http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> Another fan is Dan DiDio. I was at convention in Chicago and from the second I walked through the doors, DC representatives were coming up to me telling me that I *had* to be seen by Mr. DiDio. Eventually, I was led to him and subsequently served as his Vanna White during the DC Nation panel. That may be the highlight of my fangirl life. Thanks for letting me share my obsession. To be perfectly honest, *I* didn't even realize I had this much stuff until I took the pictures for this article. <img src='http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> It's nice to have a forum where people may actually appreciate my passion.</p>

<p>It had to happen eventually. Eventually I knew someone would send in a collection too huge, too shocking, too mind-blowingly audacious to be contained in one simple Shelf Porn post.</p>
<p>It happened this week with one Will Morelli. Will has, shall we say, a rather vast collection of toys and action figures that he described rather succinctly:</p>
<blockquote><p>I just recently finished getting my study set-up after my wife and I moved into our new house. I have been collecting both comics and figures since I was a kid. The black file cabinets that you can see in some of the pictures have my comics collection.</p></blockquote>
<p>There's simply no way I can feature all of Will's collection here (well, and not be up all night and have the resulting post take one hour for you to load on your computer). All I can do is provide a tantalizing sample. To get the full effect of Mr. Morelli's shelf porn. you'll have to see his PhotoBucket slide show <a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v426/LazarusGundam/Study/?albumview=grid">here</a>. It's ... well, just go look at the pics and then click on the link. I think you'll be stunned.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">
<p>Welcome to Send Us Your Shelf Porn, where its not the size of the shelf, but what you've got on it. Our guest this week is Alex Swindle, who, as you can tell by the photo above, is quite the Batman fan.</p>
<p>Remember, we're always on the lookout for awesome collections. Whether you're devoted to manga, Batman or the Golden Age v ersion of the Red Tornado, we want to hear (and see) about it. Send any and all photos and tour descriptions to cmautnerATcomcastDOTnet.</p>
<p>In the meantime, click on the link below to see more of Swindle's Batman-inspired shelves and here his thoughts on them.</p>
<p><span id="more-17856"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-17885" title="alexswindleshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/dscf3405-700x402.jpg" alt="alexswindleshelfporn" width="560" height="322" /></p>
<p>I've been collecting Batman action figures for several years now, and lately it's gotten a bit ridiculous. The count currently stands at 111, with another 4 on the way.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-17886" title="alexswindleshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/dscf3406-700x401.jpg" alt="alexswindleshelfporn" width="560" height="321" /></p>
<p>I've got a deal set up with my local comic shop owner where he sets aside one of any Batman figure that comes in for me, so I've now got a complete DC Direct collection. Which is something of a problem, since DC Direct figures aren't that hard to come by. It's the older stuff where you start to hit what I like to call the "collector's price point," where only the ridiculous (or ridiculously obsessed) people want to buy them. Which, if you can't tell, I qualify as.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-17887" title="alexswindleshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/dscf3408-700x331.jpg" alt="alexswindleshelfporn" width="560" height="265" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">
<p>I only collect Batmen that are "regular" figures--no Ice Armor Super Jumper Ninja Batman, just plain ol' Batman or Bruce Wayne or an Elseworlds version of him, which does help cut down on the number I "need" to buy, but it's still a lot.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-17888" title="alexswindleshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/dscf3410-700x382.jpg" alt="alexswindleshelfporn" width="560" height="306" /></p>
<p>I've tried to get one of every version of him available -- all of the movies, cartoons, and older action figures produced way back when (Captain Action from the 1960s is one of my favorites because of that). And then there are the ones that are just for fun, like the stuffed bear and the Tonner doll, which, upon buying it, made me lose all sorts of credibility since it can't possibly be justified as an action figure. It's now partly a doll collection.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">
<p>I'm just glad I have a very patient girlfriend. I fear that if I ever broke up with her I'd never find another with 222 pointy Bat-Ears looking over the living room. That said, though, it's never enough; if anybody has any suggestions about Batmen I'm missing, I'd love to hear them, since I'm always on the lookout for new ones.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-17890" title="alexswindleshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/dscf3412-700x347.jpg" alt="alexswindleshelfporn" width="560" height="278" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">
<p>The Bat-Rack, as I like to call it, is organized by theme. The top shelf's theme is "too big to fit anywhere else," leading down to small/novelty toys (such as the always-excellent PEZ dispenser). Below that is the artist/history shelf, where the figures based on either a certain artist's work or a certain point in Batman's career are. Below that is the movie/animated series/other big figure shelf, which includes the 1960's Captain Action and 1970's Mego. Below that is Elseworlds, which is almost entirely DC Direct, and finally the bottom shelf is Bruce Wayne/history of Batman action figures, which is basically just other Batman figures that don't really fit any of the above categories.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-17891" title="alexswindleshelfporn" src="http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/dscf3413-700x390.jpg" alt="alexswindleshelfporn" width="560" height="312" /></p>

<p>Thanks. I think the idea of Shelf Porn is both hilarious and great. Keep it up.</p>
