Afrodisiac trailer: 'Wool so fine it'll blow your mind'
This December Brian Maruca and Jim Rugg, the creators of Street Angel, team up on a full-length Afrodisiac graphic novel. The above trailer, set to the tune of "Cramming for College" by Don Argott, should give you an idea of what to expect.

Lewis Trondheim
Here are a few items of interest I managed to glean from various places on the Interwebs:
• Lewis Trondheim will be doing a 16-page comic for the iPhone that will be available in 18 languages. Not to be outdone, Stan Lee is releasing Stripperella for the iPhone too.
• Stripper's Guide blogger Allan Holtz announced that his "Guide to U.S. Newspaper Comic Strips and Cartoon Panels" is now under contract to be published by University of Michigan Press. "The book is a compendium of the vital statistics about comic strip and panel series that have appeared in American newspapers."
• Also according to Spurgeon: AdHouse will be working on an art book with Rafael Grampa, though it might not see the light of day until 2011 due to Grampa's busy schedule.
• BOOM! will be releasing a hardcover version of Don Rosa's The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck. Can a complete Carl Barks collection be too far away?
• Del Rey is going to publish a graphic novel version of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Um, yay?

Gorillas Riding Dinosaurs: What Looks Good for June
First of all, I need to apologize for my no-column-having self last week. My computer died suddenly on Tuesday and I just wasn't able to get anything going for the next day. It's still dead (and will be for a couple of weeks, most likely), but I'm able to borrow a PC for this week's column and here we are.
As usual, our monthly look through the Previews catalog for awesome is heavily focused on graphic novels, collections, and first issues.

Johnny Hiro, Volume 1 - I've been aching a loooong time for this one. Giant lizards, lobster-quests, and opera-going ronin are hard to wait for.

Thin wallets, fat bookshelves: AdHouse's 2009 line-up

A raw copy of the cover for the Johnny Hiro Vol. 1 trade
Today we'll be looking at Chris Pitzer's small press company AdHouse, who released such stellar books last year as Skyscrapers of the Midwest and Mesmo Delivery. It should be noted that PDF previews of several of the books listed below can be found at company's Web site.
