Axel-In-Charge: Waid & Samnee on "Black Widow" and the Dawn of the All-New, All-Different Era
In addition to launching All-New Ghost Rider in March with writer Felipe Smith, Luther Strode artist Tradd Moore supplies the cover for Secret Avengers #1. But first he knocked out some incredible character sketches of Nick Fury Jr., Black Widow, Spider-Woman and M.O.D.O.K., who are all featured in the illustration. Needless to say, they’re pretty awesome.
Check out the cover, and his Black Widow sketch, below. You can find the others on the artist’s blog.
As if M.O.D.O.K., with his grotesquely super-sized head and withered limbs, weren’t nightmarish enough, artist Nathan Britton has coaxed the classic Stan Lee/Jack Kirby supervillain into the three-dimensional world, with predictably horrifying results. “This is my mostly finished marionette of M.O.D.O.K., all I need to do is add the strings,” he writes on his deviantART page. “Papier-mache, joint compound, paper clay, acrylic paint.”

The folks at the shirt company Mighty Fine Inc. have been wowing us with some inventive designs and merchandise, particularly the ability to create your own shirt down to the print, size, color and other variables. But this new one takes the cake.
“We’ve been tallying comment requests from our customers and, as promised, have added two of the most popular suggestions to the t-shirt creator,” said Nicole Campos of Mighty Fine. “There’s an old-school Luke Cage design called “MODOK For Hire”, plus “Deadok” – Deadpool was by far the most requested cosplay for the big head!”
You can check them both out on the company’s site. But tell us this — which one do you want? And what could D.E.A.D.O.K. stand for?
