You can now buy prints of Vaughan & Martin’s ‘The Private Eye’

If, like me, you’re a big fan of The Private Eye, the digital comic by Brian K. Vaughan and Marcos Martin, you may be pleased to learn Panel Syndicate has opened a store where you can buy prints from the acclaimed sci-fi mystery set in a world where privacy is at a premium.

So now you can get 17.7-inch by 12.6-inch prints of Martin and colorist Muntsa Vicente’s covers for issues 1 and 4, or pages from Issue 1; there’s also a limited-edition black-and-white print. They’re $20 each, plus $10 shipping (except for that last one, which will set you back $50).

Fifth issue of Vaughan & Martin’s ‘The Private Eye’ now available

Here’s a great early Christmas present — the fifth issue of Brian K. Vaughan, Marcos Martin and Muntsa Vicente’s The Private Eye is now available for purchase on the Panel Syndicate website. Like previous issues, you can name your own price.

The science fiction detective story is set in an Internet-less future where everyone wears a mask to protect their privacy and stars an unlicensed journalist, who is drawn into a mystery. The story is planned for “10 issues total; an old-school ‘maxiseries!’”

Vaughan and Martin’s ‘The Private Eye’ #3 is now available

More than seven weeks after the second issue debuted, Brian K. Vaughan and Marcos Martin continue their name-your-own-price digital comic with the release of The Private Eye #3.

A detective story that centers on timely issues of privacy and surveillance, The Private Eye is set in a not-too-distant future, where everybody in the United States has a secret identity: “Our protagonist is a member of the paparazzi, outlaw private investigators who dig up the kind of personal dirt no longer readily available through search engines. It’s a mystery with lots of masks, but no superpowers.”

Vaughan and Martin’s ‘Private Eye’ debuts: Is it worth your time?

No muss, no fuss and very little hype — this week Brian K. Vaughan and Marcos Martin re-teamed on a new digital-only comic titled The Private Eye. Featuring fantastic colors by Muntsa Vicente, the comic is available on the Panel Syndicate website “for any price you think is fair.”

With that kind of model, there’s not a lot of risk for the consumer, but there is the question of “How much should I pay?” The site’s FAQ suggest 99 cents as a fair price; I opted to pay $3 because that’s what I would pay for a copy of Saga.
