Professor X Archives - Robot 6 @ Comic Book Resources
For X-Men fans nostalgic for the 1990s — those halcyon days when Storm was clad in white and yellow, Cyclops was fitted with unnecessary straps, and Colossus still sported pointy shoulder-thingies — Funko is releasing a line of Marvel Classic X-Men Pop! Vinyl bobble-heads.
Available in November, the set features 3.75-inch figures of the aforementioned Cyclops, Storm and Colossus, plus Professor X, Magneto and Mystique, all in their ’90s finest. You can check them all out below.
Even superheroes need to go to the doctor once in a while. And in an inventive advertising campaign from stock photography agency Shutterstock, they’re prescribed a host of medicinal cures.
Created with illustrator Ryan Quickfall, Shutterstock’s RxMen offers treatment for “comically exaggerated ailments” some heroes might experience. From Cerebrex migraine meds for Professor X to Purple Smash mood-swing remedies for the Hulk to Noiroprine insomnia spray for Batman, there’s something for just about any super-sufferer. If symptoms persist, please consult Night Nurse.
Baldness. Decades before it became de rigueur, it was a popular look in superhero comics. Marvel has killed off two bald figures in the past couple of years (Professor X in Avengers vs. X-Men and Uatu in the forthcoming Original Sin), but that barely scratches the surfaces of the legions of smooth-scalped characters in the hairless history of superhero and sci-fi comics.
In this installment of Six by 6, we take a look at six standout members of the bald brigade — hero and villain, male and female.
It looks like Wolverine will have some company on the unemployment line — and I’m sure he’d be excited to know it’s Gambit.
The Cajun X-Man is the latest victim of Professor X, played by comedian Pete Holmes, who is apparently culling down the X-Men. Holmes finds Gambit’s card tricks unimpressive, saying “Are you hearing as we’re speaking how incredibly lame you are?”
Watch the full clip below. The Pete Holmes Show premieres Oct. 28 on TBS.
