Just like we did with Black Friday, we’ve rounded up various deals on comics and comic-related stuff that you can get on Cyber Monday. And since at least one of the deals kicks off at midnight Pacific time, I thought I’d go ahead and post the list now instead of waiting for tomorrow morning. I’ll add any additional deals I discover throughout the day.

Also, if you did check out our Black Friday list, some of these are repeats from it, as several places have deals that have been running all weekend and go through Monday. I’ve put the new stuff up top, after the deal that starts at midnight …

Dark Horse Comics has another digital deal set up for Cyber Monday: the first 500 customers through Dark Horse Digital will get a 50 percent discount. There’s a $20 minimum, and the deal runs for 24 hours beginning at midnight Pacific Time on Nov. 28; you’ll also need a coupon code: dhcyber. You can find more details here.

And if you buy $100 worth of stuff from Things from Another World on Monday, they’ll give you $10 worth of digital Dark Horse Comics.

Publishing | Damien Lucchese, a production artist laid off last week by Marvel, explains why fans should not boycott the publisher over the layoffs: “What I’m trying to say is that I don’t want everyone to just see the MARVEL logo and think of a huge, top-heavy company, full of money hungry suits that make poor decisions (in some peoples’ opinions). That’s not what MARVEL is and there are still people working very hard (even harder now), day after day to put out comics for people to enjoy.” [Blog@Newsarama]

Digital piracy | Jim Mroczkowski posts his third interview with a digital pirate; as in the first two episodes, what comes through is that social pressures and one-upmanship have a lot to do with it. Also, piracy is expensive for the pirates, who usually buy the comics they scan—and often don’t even read them.
Dead@17 creator Josh Howard revealed today that he’s moving the popular title to Image from its longtime home at Viper Comics.

Howard’s other Viper projects, T-Bird and Throttle, Black Harvest and The Lost Books of Eve, may follow suit.

In an interview with Newsarama, Howard said there are “lots of reasons” for changing publishers. “Most importantly, I just felt it was finally time to move on. … I had been there a while and I think I have built enough of a name for myself that it was time to see if I could swim with the big boys.”

Dead@17, about a murdered teen-ager who is resurrected to fight demons, debuted in 2003 at Viper as a four-issue miniseries. The title spawned a cult following, and several sequels, including Protectorate and Blood of Saints.

Before The Middleman made the jump to television last year, Dead@17 was Viper’s best-known comic.

Howard said Dead@17 will continue as Image as a series of miniseries. Before the debut he plans to release a collection of all of the previous series.
