What Are You Reading?

Young Liars Vol. 3
Well, the snowstorm that socked the East Coast may have shut down everything from Virginia to Philadelphia, but it won't stop the What Are You Reading train from keepin' on a rollin'. Our guest this week is Phonogram, Thor and S.W.O.R.D. scribe Kieron Gillen, who was kind enough to offer his thoughts on his current reading matter. To find out what exactly he is reading, click on the link below.

What Are You Reading?

The Troublemakers
Welcome to What Are You Reading. Our guest this week is the artist extraordinaire Jim Rugg, best known for books like Street Angel and The Plain Janes, and whose latest book, Afrodisiac (with writer Brian Maruca), arrived in comic stores this past Wednesday and has been winning raves everywhere it goes. (FYI look for an interview with Mr. Rugg courtesy of our own Mr. O'Shea sometime soon).

What Are You Reading?

Deadman Wonderland Vol. 1
Arriving on your virtual driveway like a big, thick newspaper (remember those?) it's time once again for What Are You Reading. Our guest this week is Deb Aoki, who runs the excellent Manga About.com site, which, if you have any interest at all in Japanese comics, you really should have that site bookmarked and/or in your RSS feed.
I'm abstaining from participating in this week's WAYR, as a nasty cold has made it difficult to form coherent sentences. But Deb and the rest of the Robot 6 crew have a veritable boatload of interesting comics to talk about, so be sure to click on the link and see read their comments. Oh, and be sure to share with us what you're reading in the comments section, OK?

What Are You Reading?

Humbug
Like a train eager to meet its next destination, What Are You Reading chugs along into the new year without ever once looking back. Our guest this week is the ridiculously prolific cartoonist, critic and blogger Shaenon Garrity (who can also be found here). In addition to her latest comic Skin Horse, you can read her regular reviews at The Comics Journal and she has a regular column over at Comixology.
But if you want to know what Shaenon's reading this week, you'll have to click on the link below.

The Umbrella Academy: Dallas
Welcome to another round of What Are You Reading. Our guest this week is blogger and critic Alan David Doane, who among many other places can be found at the swell new group blog Trouble With Comics.
We'll be taking a break from talking about comics next Sunday, as it's a holiday weekend and all, but for now, click on the link to find out what we're currently reading.

Beasts of Burden #3
Like the Sunday newspaper, it's time once again for another round of What Are You Reading. Our guest this week is Ryan Sands, who can be found over at the Same Hat blog, recommending and even translating (Tokyo Zombie) some great, and occasionally bizarre manga (and I mean that in a good way).
To see what Ryan and the rest of us are reading this week, click on the link below. Then let us know what books you're enjoying and want to recommend (or not) in the comments section.

What Are You Reading?

Key Moments from the History of Comics
Having had Thought Ballonists' Craig Fischer over as our WAYR guest the other week, it seemed more than appropriate to invite his blogging colleague, scholar, educator, critic, author and all-around nice guy Charles Hatfield.
Find out what Mr. Hatfield is reading and see some embarrassingly complimentary birthday greetings about yours truly by clicking on the link below. And don't forget to tell us your own reading picks in the comments section.

What Are You Reading?

Criminal: The Sinners #2
Here at What Are You Reading, we don't let a little thing like a holiday weekend keep us from our comics, no sir. Nor do we stop blogging about them.
Our guest this week is David Brothers, who can be found saying interesting things about comics at 4th Letter. Want to find out what he's reading this week? Me too!

What Are You Reading?

Showcase: DC Comics Presents
It's old home week at What Are You Reading today, as our special guest is none other than Graeme McMillan, who, before he became a writer and editor for the sci-fi blog io9, used to pal around with us back when we were at that other blog that shall not be named for fear of ... something, I dunno.
Anyway, to see what Graeme and everyone else is reading this week just click on the link below ...

What Are You Reading?

Blood's A Rover
Welcome to What Are You Reading. I hope everyone had a nice Halloween and spent at least part of it reading comics.
Our guest this week is Chip Mosher, Marketing Director at Boom! Studios, publisher of such fine books as Irredeemable and The Muppet Show. As the image above hints, Chip's been reading some rather interesting (and gritty) material, so click on the link below to discover what he and the rest of Robot 6 have been reading recently. Oh, and don't forget to let us know what you have been reading in the comments section.

What Are You Reading?

Preventative Maintenance
Welcome to What Are You Reading. Our guest this week is none other than the highly esteemed Eddie Campbell, author of the autobiographical Alec series, as well as the mythological Bacchus and co-conspirator with Alan Moore on the acclaimed From Hell.
I had originally interviewed Mr. Campbell about a month ago in anticipation of the release of his whopping big Alec omnibus collection, The Years Have Pants, so this is more of a What Were You Reading than a What Are You Reading, but I nevertheless think you'll be intrigued by his selection. Look for the rest of my interview with Campbell to show up here at Robot 6 either later this week or next.
